Our First Post

Welcome to The Bush House - Summer 2007.

The past few months have been great. Alicia and Brendan have spent several weeks at the beach - in Long Beach Island, NJ (LBI) with Mom-Mom (Hedda) and whisper Pop-pop "Poo" (Hugh). I (Andrew) havebeen able to get down there every weekend (as well as up to 2 weeks for our first summer vacation time) and join them for the beach, bike rides, amusements and most importantly - and interestingly - meals!

Eating with Brendan is sometimes an experience that you have to have in perseon to truly believe. Between his wanting you to announce what everything is on his tray/plate (multiple times in fact), his fascination with golf has him using his fork as a driver and his chicken nuggets, milk cup, tater tots, watermleon, "boo-berries" (blueberries), straw....berrrrrrrrrreeees (strawberries) or anything and everthing else as a golf ball that he can get his hands on.

LBI has been fun this summer as watching Brendan enjoy the water/waves and his make-shift golf course on the beach his daddy makes for him. Brendan takes his golf club and golf ball anywhere and everywhere he can (or hsi parents let him).

As you can see here with these pictures, Brendan looks like a natural on the beach. We figured every other picture we have of him playing he has a golf club in hand, we had to take these pictures when he was "golf-free" so we had to post them up here.

Luckily, in this picture, he is using his own paddle ball and paddle. He has an affinity for others' paddles and balls while on the beach. So much in fact, he has made many a friend
We so wish he could understand that all of the paddles on the beach are not his to play with. Soon enough he will get it!!

As for friends on the beach, Brendan says "hi" to everyone - i mean EVERYONE on the beach. He is not discriminating at all - although he does prefer the pretty "Gurrlls" in the bikinis. I wonder where he gets that from? :-)

We also made a short trip to Margate, NJ to see Mom-Mom "shue" (Susan) and whisper "Pop-Pop" Steve. Also there was my sisters and Brendan's cousins - Jake, Jared, Zach and Izzy on a cross-over day. Brendan spent most of his time "side" or "out......shide" in his terms as it was a beautiful weekend. We had a BBQ with friends - Jerry and Amy Wexler and Jaime and Abby Checkoff (and kids Jordan and Amanda). Also attending the BBQ was Todd Safra and my Aunt Essie and Uncle Bob. While the cooking took up most of my time and chaisng Brendan around was most of Alicia's time it was still nice to see everyone and catch up. For pictures of this trip in June - please go to http://amyjerry.blogspot.com/ and go to June 22nd weekend. We'll be back in Margate on August 24th for the weekend where we hope to have the annual Bush-Cherkin BBQ. Pcitures will surely follow.
Ok, that is it for now as I am headed to the LBI this afternoon, so I should probably get some work done this morning. Until the next time..... Andrew
